12″ Windflower Quilt Block

The Windflower block is curvy block that reminds me both of a flower and a windmill. That is probably how it got its name. Keep scrolling down below for the cutting instructions needed to create one of these blocks.

Cutting instructions for 12″ Finished (12.5″ Unfinished) Windflower Block

Color 1 (White)

  • (4) Inner Quarter Circle Templates
  • (8) Outer Templates Quarter Circle Templates

Color 2 (Pink)

  • (8) Inner Quarter Circle Templates
  • (4) Outer Templates Quarter Circle Templates

Color 3 (Purple)

  • (4) 3.5″ Squares

Assembly Instructions for 12″ Finished (12.5″ Unfinished) Windflower Block

A quarter-inch seam allowance should be used.

  1. Pairing each inner circle template with an outer circle template of an opposite color, make all your blocks. See video tutorial above for additional tips & tricks
  2. Assemble the block by rows based off the picture above.
